This is the wreck of a Bristol Blenheim, a twin-engined RAF light bomber that ditched off Malta’s east coast on 13 December 1941. It is usually said to have turned back after an Italian fighter damaged its port engine on a flight to Greece, and the three crew survived, though the aircraft’s exact identity has never been confirmed. It lies about 800 metres east of Xrobb l-Għaġin, near Delimara Point, and is reached by boat.

The aircraft sits upright on sand and small reef at about 42 metres. The wings and both radial engines are still largely in place, the starboard propeller is bent and the port one is missing, and the rear fuselage lies broken off a few metres away. Recent visitors report that the wreck is deteriorating.

This is a deep dive with short bottom times and sometimes strong currents, suited to experienced divers.
