Twin Arches, also called Double Arch or Qbajjar Arch, is off Gozo’s north coast between Xwejni Bay and Marsalforn. It takes its name from two natural arches stacked one on top of the other in the reef.
The top of the reef sits at 15 to 18 metres and the arches begin at about 20 metres, with the bottom beneath them at around 34 metres. The reef continues to about 45 metres, with small caves near the arches and a larger cave further out. Groupers are sometimes seen in the deeper parts, though the large barracuda shoals once common here have been seen less in recent years.
It can be dived from Xwejni Bay with a surface swim of about 250 metres, or by boat. Average depths are around 30 metres, so it is a site for experienced divers. Avoid it in rough seas from the north.
