Reqqa Point is the most northerly tip of Gozo, below the village of Żebbuġ, and one of the island’s best-regarded wall dives. The reef drops in steps from the point to well beyond recreational depths, with a sandy shelf at around 25 to 27 metres.
Visibility is usually very good and the site is known for large groupers, some over a metre long. Several caves lie close by, including Billinghurst Cave, whose entrance is at about 28 metres, and Shrimp’s Cave. A chimney near the entry runs from roughly 6 to 17 metres.
It is a shore dive from the rocks of the point. Entry and exit are straightforward in calm seas but difficult when it is choppy, the rocks are sharp and ladders are not always in good repair. The wall keeps going far past 40 metres, so watch your depth closely.
