Alex’s Cave, also called Cominotto Cave, is a shallow cave on the small islet just south of the Blue Lagoon, between Comino and Cominotto. It is usually dived by boat, often as a second dive after a deeper site nearby.
The wide, bright entrance sits behind a large boulder at around 8 to 10 metres, with sand and seagrass outside down to about 16 metres. Inside, a chamber of roughly 20 metres bends to the left and turns dark, so bring a torch. Near the end you can rise into an air pocket lit by a crack in the rock. Look for shrimps, octopus, and moray and conger eels among the boulders.
The cave floor is fine sand, so good buoyancy keeps the visibility clear. The site is sheltered most of the time, but it should not be dived when a southerly storm is blowing.
