Not too shabby!
The locals simply call it ‘Ir-Ramla’, but the Maltese and tourists who visit Gozo always want to visit ‘Ir-Ramla l-Ħamra’ which literally means, the ‘Red sand beach’ or ‘the beach with red sand’. And in fact, one of the major attraction points of this beach is the unique colour of its sand.
Ramla Bay is a pretty large beach, the scenery is beautiful and the area surrounding it is still in a pristine, untouched condition. For this reason, the area is also popular for tourism in winter especially among those who love to hike.
This beach is accessible by car. The sea is generally safe to swim in, but watch out for Red Flag alert, when the sea gets rough.
